Bowls at Morningside

ALL SKILL LEVELS & AGES WELCOME

At Morningside Country Club, we provide for all bowler categories from 1st division league level (men and women) to beginners. Whether competitive or playing socially, bowls offers fresh air, mental and physical activity, friendship, and community.

Learn from other experienced players and improve your skills on the green, regardless of whether you're a seasoned competitor or just starting out in the world of bowls.

Playing Matters

Our top-tier greens receive meticulous upkeep from seasoned greenkeepers.

Members receive full access to our greens facilities, with the exception of during maintenance or sanctioned events. Our 4 top-notch greens ensure minimal play disruptions. No green fees are required for members.

  • Bowls League

    To enter you need to be a affiliated BSA/JBA Bowler.

    Mens, Ladies, and Open competitions with formats ranging from Fours to Trips. Saturday afternoon league games during the season starting in January. League dates are provided on the JBA calendar.

  • Tabs Sessions

    We run formal tabs sessions for members - a great platform to meet other members and practice your skills.

  • Competitions

    Regular competitions at National, Provincial and District levels. Limited to affiliated BSA/JBA Bowlers.

    Internal competitions are also hosted for members to showcase skills in various formats and categories for Mens, Ladies, Mixed, and Novice Bowlers.

Visitors and members of other clubs are welcome to come and enjoy our facilities. Each player will be required to pay a green fee of R30 each time they play.

Bowling Lessons for Beginners

BRING YOUR PERSONALITY, A HAT & SUNBLOCK!

Pay R400 for a 6-week coaching plan (across 8 weeks). Coaching sessions occur Saturdays, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, with weeknight coaching TBA. Practice sessions at Morningside are also available during the week - at no additional cost.

Corporate & Team Building Events

Book your next corporate function, birthday party or shindig at MCC. Corporate games for team building, as well as private bowls games, are available on request and all equipment can be provided.
